Cockroaches
are one of the most common pests found in households and commercial
establishments. Cockroaches have an incomplete life cycle
consisting of egg, nymph, and adult. There are about 4,000
species of cockroaches found in the world today, but 70 of
those species are found in the United States and only about
4 of those species are a true problem here in the Atlanta
area. A cockroach problem must be taken very seriously, because
they are a known health risk. Aside from being a common nuisance,
cockroaches can carry and transmit diseases as well as cause
allergic reactions in many people. It is most important to
properly identify the cockroach species being encountered,
because the treatment will vary depending on the species.
